USC Esports is constantly changing and growing, and this week introduces our first ever Teamfight Tactics (TFT) team. An auto-battler game available in the League of Legends client, TFT is a strategy game that involves team building.
Isabel Fowlkes, the founder of the TFT club, tells me, “I decided to start the TFT team because I want to learn, get better and more involved with the game, but I didn't wanna do it grinding solo. I wanted a community to share that climb with, and since there wasn't a ready-made one already, I had to go do it!”
While a lot of USC Esports’ teams are focused on the competitive scene, Isabel intends on having a pretty open format when it comes to TFT’s meetings. “I want… to… be guided by what the community is gravitating towards. If people are looking for opportunities to learn from elite players, I want to give them that. If people are looking to meet people and make friends, I want to give them that. The more I'm able to connect people with the experiences they're excited about, that's what I'd really like to be able to do with this team.”
USC TFT has their first casual session on November 2nd at 8 PM, and an upcoming tournament with in-person finals from the 9th to the 13th.
