USC ESPORTS WRAP-UP #20 — How we want to present ourselves.

By: Richard Wang

Heya USC Games! Welcome back to another wrap up with another interview with a board member of the Esports team: Emma, a freshman in communications, and the current marketing director.

1. What do you do as the marketing director of USC Esports?
So for me specifically, a lot of my job comes from managing our socials which is mainly just our instagram. That means making reels and posting stories, and providing updates, and a lot of that takes a lot of communication between the content staff and our team managers as well: Getting their match dates, getting graphics, stuff like that. I also work very closely with Emma Kate, our media director, for things like media day or long form content day like we did for E Conquest. It’s really about just having a clear view of how we as USC Esports want to present ourselves and talking with all the different teams to make sure we can get that going. I also really want to let people know our players and organization more— we’re trying to get more active this semester.

2. What are your future goals— whether long term or short term— as the marketing director?

Short term, definitely keeping consistent with the posts and more updates on our match dates and match results so people know we’re active and how our teams are doing. Long term wise, I want to form stronger connections with our community and other organizations, whether that be collegiate or professional. As always, we have a very strong connection with UCLA— we interact with them when we can— but also last semester whenever we’d go to events like Newegg and ex-Evil Geniuses event I actually talked to their socials and asked for them to tag us in their stories just so we’re getting more exposure for our club and more opportunities.
